Here to Ignite, Encourage and Inspire your Creative Flame

“Art is an adventure into an unknown world, which can be explored only by those willing to take risks” – Mark Rothko

Hey there my friends I hope you’re all keeping well and warm during this spell of windy weather, here in the UK. Sorry that this newsletter is a couple of days late – I do have a reason, honestly, I’ve been waiting for my new workshop dates to be confirmed over at Martin Mere Wetland Centre, and I wanted to share them with you first 😉 I now have them so hopefully it’ll have been worth your wait lol, I’ll share them with you in moment or two.
I’m also pleased to let you all know that my snow leopard painting (yet to be titled) is finally finished, worked from my own reference images. It’s an acrylic painting measuring 24″ x 18″. I’m hoping to get it properly lit and photographed tomorrow and then next weekend will proceed in getting it varnished. After which it will be heading off to my framers. I hope you like him, one of my favourite big cats to paint 😊

Okay as promised here are the six initial dates to get us off to a great start over at Martin Mere Wetland Centre.
I’ve included January’s workshop date to show how the mediums will be rotated throughout the year; watercolour then acrylic, followed by pastel, and then back to watercolour and so on.
If participants would like further mediums added then extra dates can be slotted in to suit. So if your passion is coloured pencil or you love oil painting then just let me know.

Subscriber Question – Is there an inexpensive way of trying pastels but still getting plenty of colours?
A. Well I’m sure this question, regardless of medium, resonates with many of us. You’d like to try a new medium but don’t want to be restricted to just a couple of colours because of the cost. My answer for this one is simple – I’d recommend you getting a small box (24 colours) of Koh-I-Noor soft pastels and give them a try. I reviewed them and can thoroughly recommend them.
See the video Koh-I-Noor Soft Pastels, you can even use a little water with them.
I may not always have a video on my YouTube channel to go alongside a subscriber’s question, but when I do I’ll be sure to add it. Here’s a link for the Koh-I-Noor Soft Pastels if you’d like to take a look.

Okay it’s nearly lunch time and my tummy is rumbling, not that you needed to know that lol. So I’ll sign off for now as I’ve a busy afternoon at the easel ahead of me.
Thank you as always for spending some time with me today, and please feel free to leave a question or suggestion in the contact form below.
Until next time, as always, stay safe and stay creative, Kerry xXx

Good afternoon folks I hope that this quick update finds you all well and, dare I say, looking forward to the festive season. Our Christmas tree is already up, I’d blame it on the children but in actual fact I’m the culprit lol, hey ho I can think of worse things to be guilty of lol.
