Good morning folks I hope that this week’s blog update finds you all well and looking forward to the festive season (just between you and me our Christmas tree went up yesterday lol)
Well a couple of weeks have come and gone since my last post, sorry about that, the main reason for my absence being the mixture of a heavy work load twinned with school half term holidays … back on track now though.
Lots of new items for you all so here goes:
Botswana and Estonia! Two weeks ago I received a phone call completely out of the blue from a dear friend whom I’ve known for around 9 years but hadn’t spoken to in a while. To cut a long story, and an even longer conversation, short the outcome of our conversation was a positive one – my friend (I’ll be able to share more details later) is in the process of setting up a new business and would like me onboard too. He currently runs photographic tours to Botswana and Estonia but intends to branch out further to include art safaris hence his phone call to me! Needless to say I’ve agreed lol (once I’d picked myself up off the floor that is lol). So now, for me at least, it’s a waiting game while the new business’ website is built and the cogs begin to turn. He did ask when would I prefer the art safaris to commence i.e towards the end of 2017 (after the Birdfair in August) or the beginning of 2018 – my reply was simple “NOW PLEASE” Lol. Okay so I need to be patient, I’ve been asked, I’ve said yes, I’ve agreed for the art safaris to launch when he sees fit … so that’s pretty much where we are up to now. One thing I can also mention before I forget is the new company’s name is ‘365 Wildlife Experiences’ – something for you all to look out for in the not too distant future 🙂
Knowsley Safari Park Survey!!!. Okay closer to home for this piece of news and a little contribution from yourselves if it suits and if you have five minutes to spare. If you’ve been recieveing and reading my blog updates you’ll be aware that I’m now the resident artist of Knowsley Safari Park (their words not mine lol). Well it all sounds grand until you realise that there isn’t anything set up there at all yet and that the reins controlling this venture lie in my hands. Daunting yes, mind boggling yes, exciting oh YES!!! So all things start in a basic way and the first step to running this marathon in particular is ‘market research’ and thats where you, my wonderful subscribers, can play a part in this adventure if you wish … This simple ‘service testing’ survey should take just a few minutes to complete, and I’ll thank in advance all of you who choose to take part – your input is truly appreciated xXx.

Wildfoot Travel Blog is now live! As mentioned in my previous Blog post I have been invited by Wildfoot Travel to become part of their online team, requesting the contribution of a monthly blog highlighting my ‘close encounters of the furry kind’, or to be more precise my challenges, happy accidents, thoughts and methodology that form the framework of my life as a professional wildlife artist. Well I’m more than happy to announce that this blog has now also gone live! So if you really do feel the need to hear more of my ramblings then please pop over to Wildfoot Travel and take a read lol. And if you like what you read then please don’t hesitate to drop them a line also …. hey that’s what friends are for lol ;-). Here’s a link to their website:

In my studio at the moment. The lead up to Christmas 2016 is just like any other with a commission on the easel needing ongoing attention until completion to keep Santa and his elves at bay. Hoping the work in progress image will give you a rough idea at what stage I’m at at the moment, I’ll apologise for the image quality – a quick snap taken with my mobile phone:
Celebratory Commission. I’m pleased to say that I’ve now recieved a beautiful array of reference images for my latest client Chris Packham. More news to follow once this new project is on my easel.
My New Logo! With everything that’s happening I was also advised to finally brand myself … okay that sounds wrong lol. In the creation of a new logo is what I meant to say lol, so taking the advise from people in the know I set to work, and I’m very pleased to say that six hours and a litre of coffee later I had achieved what I said out to do. Ladies and gentleman my new logo:
Okay folks well done to those of you who’ve made it this far, the ones that haven’t fallen asleep or found themselves staring into the distance wondering why they’d ever felt the need to subscribe to my website and recieve my weekly babblings lol. I thank you! Just a couple more things to say then we’re done for another week:
Workshops! With my Workshops for this year fully booked and the last one to run this coming Saturday I can now announce that next years Wildlife Art Workshop dates are live and bookings are already being taken, so if this is something you want to take part in next year then please don’t leave it too late to book as places are limited. More information and how to book your place can be found on the ‘Workshops’ page of my website: www.KerryNewell.com
